Option A. Retain the green belt. I feel very strongly about this. The local area cannot support more people and vehicles. Also why waste perfectly good agricultural land, which the country needs

answer A, protect the Green Belt. I write to protest most strongly that Chester certainly does not need more housing especially in Green belt and definitely NOT in Mickle Trafford. Currently there are 12 unsold properties in our Village Mickle Trafford alone. Our NHS services are already overwhelmed and cannot cope with existing demand. Our village school is at capacity and could not accommodate more primary school children. The road serving this school is small, and school runs are already bedlam. It would be impossible to accommodate more school run traffic. Our village relies on its small size to retain its rural character and feel. This is why we chose to live here in the first place.

I don’t understand why houses carn’t be built on brown field sites before using these areas. I see so many properties around here empty that should be considered first.

Mere Brow Farm Cheshire Permaculture Project I am answering question SS11 and my choice is Option A retain the green belt. I appeal to the planning authorities to reject the proposal to build all these new houses. Do we not have a declining birth rate? Will all these houses really be necessarily in 20 or 30 years from now Or will in fact many of them be left empty. There is currently an obsession with building houses. Yet we have so many empty houses. William Blake's 'green and pleasant' land is fast becoming a grey dull housing estate. Where are the children of future generations going to play? Where are we to ramble when our fields and beautiful countryside are but ugly roads and houses.

My reasoning for the above is as follows: a - We as a country need to protect agriculture and provide food security, we should not be reclassifying or building on agricultural land b - Brownfield sites should be used for any further development

I am answering question SS 11 of the consolation document and my preference is Option A - Retain the Green Belt. I believe there is already enough urbanisation of Cheshire’s countryside and the county will lose its character with the other options. In my opinion, the consolation document is far too long and complicated for most people to respond to.

My choice is Option A - Retain the Green Belt”. I am from the Neston area and the Green Belt Land serves a great benefit to the community with much of it crossed by public footpaths regularly used and enjoyed by residents. These green spaces should be protected and Neston Town Councillors will recall the local residents uproar when a track called “Cuckoo Lane” was covered in hardcore (the track runs through Green Belt Land close to Little Neston). Such action highlights how important this Green Belt is to the local community. The Green Belt Land is also valuable farmland which should be kept in its existing use and local farmers supported and not burdened with the worry of having their businesses destroyed.
