Re the consultation document question SS11 - I am choosing Option A - Retain the Green Belt. This plan is set to destroy this area of Cheshire west turning it into a grid locked urban environment. The green belt is shrinking so fast we are losing all sorts of wildlife and clean air. There are plenty of brown field sites which should be developed, and numerous abandoned homes causing an eyesore, concentrate on these first. The roads struggle to cope with the current levels of traffic without adding more into the mix and adding more traffic lights will bring everything to a halt.

I am writing to you with regard to question ss 11, I am supporting plan A, because it is the better of the three options for Barnton village, my reasons are :- 1, the land that is proposed to be built on is good farm land, on which grows, wheat, barley, oats, rapeseed, potatoes, corn and other foods. Cattle also graze on some of the land. Food production is vital for the country and should be protected. 2, If it was decided to build 1600 houses on green belt land, the village would be twice its original size and would merge with Comberbach, thereby losing their identities. 3, the schools in Barnton and Comberbach are both full to their capacity, so new a school would need to be built before any houses were built. The Doctors are also full, so extra medics would be needed. 4, The road infrastructure would not be able to cope with all the extra traffic as it is very narrow through the centre of the village. Travel to Northwich requires a route over two bridges. One is an ageing swing bridge that is subject of a protection order and the second is a historic sandstone bridge that is extremely narrow. A new bridge, which has already been subject of a Government funding bid and a ring road would be needed if this extra building was-to go ahead.

My recommendation for the item SS11 is Option A - Retain the green belt. We believe that new houses should be built nearer to main road arteries and keeping travel disruption to villages to a minimum.  Our British way of life is disappearing before our eyes! Please let villages be villages - we choose to live here for that reason, we don't want to live in 'Barnton town' with the additional noise and traffic should the building of 1700 houses bring.

I am writing to register my objection to the plans to build on the green belt between Barnton and Marbury, land adjacent to Hough Lane. This is marked as NOR 01 on your proposal. I am answering SS 11 and selecting Option A, Retain the green belt. The village of Barnton needs additional infrastructure if it is to expand to this level. An upgraded bridge to Northwich for vehicles and pedestrians and the chutes footpath fixed to allow better pedestrian access. There are not enough doctor, dentist and school places to support the additional homes and the destruction of wildlife habitats would be irreversible.
