We agree with the approach in OS 2, particularly the protection of community facilities and promotion of new/improved provision. This is important for enabling physical activity opportunities in settings that are trusted and accessible for local communities. We recommend strengthening the policy by: Encouraging multi-functional, inclusive design so facilities serve diverse community groups (e.g. intergenerational activities, women and girls’ participation, people with disabilities). Embedding a clear link between cultural/community facilities and the health and wellbeing agenda, ensuring they contribute to reducing inequalities.
