I read with dismay the proposals relating to the proposed development of greenbelt land in and around Neston and Parkgate and am contacting you to strongly object to such a large scale development. I have significant concerns that the local infrastructure is simply not geared up to serve such a significant increase in residential homes. I am answering question “SS 11” and my choice is: Option A: Retain the Greenbelt

I live in Delamere Park in Cuddington. I attended a meeting last night led by Gillian Edwards who explained some of the proposed options. I think that out of the three options proposed option A seemed like the best option. I am concerned that any other option would put the current infrastructure under great strain and would be massively opposed by farmers and local people. In addition to this our green spaces are important spots for wildlife, particularly in our area of Delamere Park where we regularly get hedgehogs. Unfortunately hedgehogs are currently in decline nationally due to habitat loss and busier roads. I think option A would be a good happy medium providing houses for those that need them without putting too much strain on current services available.

I support Option A – Retain the Green Belt . This is the only option that protects communities, prevents urban sprawl, and supports the regeneration of existing urban areas. I strongly object to the proposed allocation of Green Belt land for housing development. The Council should reject such proposals and instead pursue sustainable growth through brownfield regeneration and urban capacity studies, fully in line with the NPPF and the principles of Option A.
