I not support any of the three options (A, B or C). I understand the need for more housing BUT believe that it should be shared out around all villages in the county to avoid very large scale developments which have insufficient infrastructure and cause issues with traffic & pollution in the need to travel to schools.

I believe that Cheshire West and Chester should prioritise developments around sustainable transport options, such as train stations and on bus routes. (Option C). The majority of the existing greenbelt land in the north of the County is farmland, which is no different that what is in the south of the County. The farmland in these areas needs to be treated the same from a planning perspective. Obviously the woodland areas (Delamere, Helsby Hill etc) should be completely protected. Placing the larger home development areas around sustainable transport is a good idea, is that transport network is linked correctly and efficiently.

I am writing to express my strong support for Plan A in the current consultation on the new Local Plan for Weaverham. Plan A offers the most sustainable and appropriate approach for the village. It rightly protects the Green Belt, respects the scale and character of our community, and recognises the infrastructure pressures already arising from developments such as Winnington and the Wallerscote Salt Works. Key reasons for my support include: Preserving the Green Belt to prevent overdevelopment, safeguard the countryside, and retain separation between Weaverham and Northwich; Avoiding unsustainable pressure on roads, schools, GP services, and local infrastructure; Protecting valuable agricultural land, biodiversity, and wildlife habitats; Maintaining Weaverham’s historic rural identity and landscape setting; Prioritising brownfield development and urban intensification in more suitable locations. Plan A provides a fair, proportionate strategy for housing growth—one that supports long-term sustainability without compromising the unique character of Weaverham. I urge Cheshire West and Chester Council to adopt Plan A as the preferred spatial strategy for Weaverham in the final Local Plan.

option B because it’s a more equitable distribution. Residents are very concerned about the prospect of 10,000 new homes in one place. In addition , particularly A and C propose large scale development which pay no heed to Ecological Network mapping ,( see Cheshire wildlife report Cheshire Wildlife Trust 2003) One important function of a local plan is to protect and enhance biodiversity.
Option B - Follow current Local Plan level and distribution of development

We would support Option B as the most appropriate strategy as this would appear to offer the most balanced approach to future development across the borough (i.e. development is spread more evenly across the key settlements).

I am writing to express my strong support for Plan A in the current consultation on the new Local Plan for Weaverham. Plan A represents the most sustainable and appropriate option for the village. It rightly protects the Green Belt, respects the scale and character of the community, and acknowledges the infrastructure pressures already arising from recent developments such as Winnington and the Wallerscote Salt Works. Key reasons for my support include: - Preserving the Green Belt to prevent overdevelopment, protect countryside, and retain village separation from Northwich; - Avoiding unsustainable pressure on roads, schools, GPs and services; - Protecting agricultural land, biodiversity, and local habitats; - Maintaining the historic rural identity of Weaverham; - Prioritising brownfield development and urban intensification where appropriate. Plan A offers a fair and proportionate approach to housing without sacrificing the long-term sustainability and character of our village. I urge CWAC to adopt Plan A as the preferred spatial strategy for Weaverham in the final Local Plan and please find below relevant planning policies. Relevant Planning Policies and Legal Framework National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) 2021: Paragraphs 138–147: Protection of Green Belt land, maintaining openness and preventing urban sprawl. Paragraph 11: Plan-led system and presumption in favour of sustainable development. Paragraph 174: Protection of biodiversity and natural environment. Cheshire West and Chester Local Plan (Part One) 2015: Policy STRAT 1: Sustainable development principles. Policy STRAT 9: Protection of Green Belt and settlement separation. Policy ENV2: Landscape protection. Policy ENV4: Biodiversity and geodiversity protection. Policy ENV7: Sustainable transport and safe access. CWAC Emerging Local Plan – Plan A: Maintains Green Belt boundaries around Weaverham and limits new housing allocations. Recognises existing development pressure and infrastructure capacity constraints. Environment Act 2021: Requires biodiversity net gain on new developments and stronger habitat protections. Highways Act 1980: Section 41: Duty to maintain public highways and ensure safe access. Local By-Laws and Other Protections: Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs) protecting mature trees and hedgerows on or near the site. Cheshire Landscape Character Assessment guidelines restricting development in sensitive rural landscapes.
